Coroner identifies man killed on beltway

UPDATE: The Clark County coroner has identified the deceased as 43-year-old Devin Joe Andreas from Las Vegas. An official cause of death was not given. 

EARLIER STORY

A fatal crash closed the 215 beltway between Ann Road and Hualapai Way in both directions.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 9:10 a.m., a black 2012 Dodge Ram pick up was traveling southbound on CC-215 in the right lane.
 
A 2006 Sterling Dump truck was north bound on CC-215 traveling in the right lane.
 
The 43-year-old male driver of the Dodge pick up, who was from Las Vegas failed to maintain his lane.
 
The Dodge traveled across the left lane, the center yellow line, the left lane of CC-215 north bound, into the path of the dump truck.
 
The left front of the Dodge struck the left side of the dump truck. The Dodge rotated counter clockwise and came to rest on its wheels facing an easterly direction.
 
The dump truck came to rest on the right paved and dirt shoulder of CC-215 northbound.
 
The driver of the Dodge sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased on scene.
 
The 43-year-old male driver of the dump truck, who is from North Las Vegas sustained only minor injuries and remained on scene.
 
This marks the Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command’s 60th fatal collision for 2015.
