UPDATE: Authorities say they found five bodies among the wreckage of a plane that crashed in central California after sending a mayday call and disappearing from radar, the Associated Press reported.
Kern County sheriff's Sgt. Mark King said Sunday that the bodies have not been identified yet.
The plane was heading to Henderson.
The FAA said crews found the wreckage late Saturday evening in an orchard.

Kern County Sheriff's Office says debris from a plane was found on Panama Lane and Buena Vista Road on Saturday. It's unknown if it's the same missing plane that FAA reported earlier.
An official with the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement to 23ABC that a single-engine plane disappeared off the radar about 10 miles south of Bakersfield Saturday afternoon.
Senior Deputy John Carpenter with the Kern County Sheriff's Department said that at about 4:25 p.m., Kern County law enforcement received a call from LA Traffic Control that a mayday call from a single engine plane was broadcasted.

Crews from KCSO, Bakersfield Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Kern County Fire Department all joined in the search and by 7:24 p.m., debris was found spread out across the area.
Carpenter said that they aren't sure how many were onboard the aircraft when it crashed and he's not sure if weather was a factor.
At about 8:15 p.m., officials have shut down Panama Lane west of Buena Vista Road due to the investigation of a possible missing plane.
Officials said the missing plane was a Piper PA32 model.
The FAA official added that the plane was flying from Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose and was headed to the Henderson Executive Airport in Nevada.

The FAA issued an alert notice, which is the first step in initiating the search-and-rescue process.
This story comes almost two weeks after a medical helicopter crash happened near McFarland and killed 4 people.
FAA and National Transportation Safety Board officials will arrive by 8 a.m. Sunday to start their investigation.
Carpenter said that there aren't any indications of survivors.
