An event raised money toward bulletproof vests for K9 officers Sunday morning.
This was for the Gavin Buchanan Memorial Foundation. Gavin was a young boy who was passionate about helping K9s before he died at the age of 5.
"He said I don't want these dogs to get shot and killed and that's pretty simple," said Brandi Narvaez with the foundation.
This comes just days after Las Vegas police dog Nicky was killed in the line of duty during a officer-involved shooting in the northwest part of the valley.
