At approximately 10:39 p.m. on Sept. 27, a fatal crash occurred on Pebble Road, near Eastern Avenue.
Evidence and witnesses say a driver in a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse hit the back of a red 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by Chi Crooymans. The impact caused both cars to spin out and the Mitsubishi to roll over. The Eclipse then hit a parked white 2006 Kenworth Water Truck and ended up top down in the middle of the street. The Toyota crossed the center lanes of Pebble Road, where it made contact gray Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Lessa Grosso.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was declared dead at the scene of the crash. Both Crooymans and Grosso were transported to Sunrise Trauma where they were treated and released.
This is the 100th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2017. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
