Du-Par's Restaurant & Bakery in the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas closed Tuesday night ahead of its midnight schedule.

According to a press release, Du-Par's has struggled with payments over an extended period of time.

Du-Par's was responsible for introducing the 99-cent cocktail to Las Vegas, although the cocktail currently costs $3.99. It is also famous for its large buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were once declared the "best pancakes in the U.S." by Esquire Magazine.

The first location opened in 1938 in California. There is also a location inside the Suncoast Hotel & Casino.
