Across the world, families, friends, and advocates will join together on Sunday to remember those who have died in traffic crashes on the World Day of Remembrance.

Sunday's event is the 25th anniversary of the worldwide event and held in Las Vegas for the second time.

The remembrance is open to anyone wanting to remember or honor their loved ones with the gathering starting at about 5 p.m. on the steps of Las Vegas City Hall

More than 200 people have lost their lives on valley roads so far in 2018, according to event organizers, and that number is on pace to exceed the deaths in 2017.

The gathering will include spiritual readings, performances, and opportunities for those to share personal stories, along with traffic safety advocates speaking out about safety during the holiday season.

Traffic fatalities are preventable, according to event supporters.
