ORIGINAL STORY

BOULDER CITY (KTNV) -- The body of an adult female was found in the desert within Lake Mead National Recreation Area on Saturday.

National Park Service officials say a helicopter tour company reported a car that was parked in the same location for several days.

A Lake Mead park pilot flew over the area to investigate. The car was spotted near the end of Devil's Cove Road. Rangers from the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument responded and located a deceased female.

Search and Rescue crews recovered the body on July 23. Grand Canyon-Parashant rangers are investigating to find out what happened. The Clark County Medical Examiner will confirm the victim's identity and determine the cause of death.
