LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — More partygoers are expected to visit Las Vegas over this New Year’s holiday than in 2017.

According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, an estimated 318,000 visitors are expected to celebrate the calendar changing to 2019 in Las Vegas.

That number is an almost 3 percent move over 2017’s 309,000 visitors.

Vegas' guests over the New Year holiday are also expected to spend a little more than $240 million. This number is also up from the $233.1 million spent last year.

The increase in visitors will translate into more hotel rooms being occupied, according to the LVCVA, as 97 percent of the total rooms available will be reserved through the New Year's holiday.
