LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A scary moment for a tenant that lives on the east side of Las Vegas.

The woman claims she dodged a bullet by seconds after a gun shot was fired through her bedroom window.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department made a report on Dec. 28 regarding the the incident but the property owner thinks more could be done.

The bullet went through the tenant’s window, two mirror closet doors, and a wall. The tenant had just grabbed a sweater of the closet when she heard the gun shot.

"Within seconds, I had just walked out of the room and went in the living room when it hit."

13 Action News is not revealing the women’s identity, she worries for her safety. "I've never been shot at!"

Thomas Winter has owned the one acre land near North Hopi Lane and Bonanza Road for more than 20 years.

He feels violated someone targeted his home and the renter.

In hopes to find the culprit, Winter posted a reward sign outside the house seeking information.

"I have to do to this to make sure justice is done," said Winter.

Winter and the woman claim LVMPD could have done more than a police report.

"I think they should've investigated more, come out the next morning and done more investigating in broad daylight" said the women.

"[They could have] checked out trajectory where the bullet went, and they can very well see where the bullet came from," said Winter.

Nearby neighbors told 13 Action News Friday’s incident is not taken lightly.

"It’s just getting kind of flaky. I feel like I have to stay in the house," said a man who also requested to remain anonymous.

13 Action News reached out to LVMPD, requested a statement but has not heard back.
