SECOND UPDATE: Vernon Newson Jr. was taken into custody in Southern California on charges of murder with a deadly weapon and ex-felon in possession of a firearm. He is awaiting extradition back to Las Vegas.
UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Anshanette Unique McNeil. The cause of her death was multiple gun shot wounds.

A 28-year-old female is dead after being shot multiple times.
On Sunday, December 13, at about 10:35 p.m., officers responded to the area of Lamb Boulevard and the on-ramp to Interstate-15 regarding a shooting. Officers arriving on scene learned a 28-year-old Las Vegas female had been transported to Sunrise Hospital where she died.
Witnesses reported that the female victim had been inside a vehicle with the suspect before they both exited and she was shot by the suspect multiple times. Detectives are not prepared to release suspect or vehicle information at this time.
