On June 5, War Machine was sentenced to life in prison with a chance of parole after 36 years for assault, attempted murder, battery with strangulation, and kidnapping. He is currently serving his sentence at Ely State Prison, but that isn't why we are writing this article.

It seems as though War Machine has found love.

War Machine is currently engaged to 30-year-old Ashley Farrington, and her family tells TMZ.com that the two were pen pals in 2017 before taking their romance to the next level this summer. Farrington now visits War Machine at the state prison.

TMZ reported the details of the proposal:

Feelings developed and, earlier this year, the 36-year-old former UFC star wrote a poem asking for her hand in marriage. She said yes, even though he was sans ring.

The engagement goes to show that love can be found in the strangest places.

No word on a date for the couple's prison wedding.
