LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Vontaze Burfict, a free-agent NFL player, was arrested this past weekend in Las Vegas.

Burfict was taken into custody on Dec. 5 after an overnight incident at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip.

A security officer shared details of an altercation that he explained occurred at the property that started at about 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 4.

The officer said Burfict, along with two other men, were irate when they were asking for the location of the "Secret Pizza" restaurant at the Cosmopolitan.

One of the men started recording security while they were on an escalator. The man then called security "clowns" and placed the phone in one of their faces while blocking the end of the escalator, according to the security guard.

Security asked the man to stop recording and to not block the escalator and that's when security says they were pushed back on the escalator with another man from the group throwing a punch.

The trio of men in question were eventually taken down by security and questioned at the Cosmopolitan.
