LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police identified the homeless person who repeatedly fatally stabbed a store clerk Sunday night.

Martinez went inside the business looking for handouts, according to a police report, and clerk Ciro Vasquez escorted Martinez outside but a fight ensued.

Vasquez was then stabbed by Martinez in the chest area and he later died as a result of the injury.

Martinez was taken into custody by police and was said to be aggressive to other workers in the area when he does not receive handouts from the local businesses.

Authorities say Martinez is facing a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon.
