HENDERSON (KTNV) — A teenager is dead and a man is under arrest after a shooting in Henderson shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday.

Henderson police say they received multiple calls about shots in the area of Sunset Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found two 17-year-old teens. One was alive and one was dead.

Police spoke with 44-year-old Edward Croaker who told police that he observed two males shooting at the rear of his residence on Meadow Bluffs. Croaker got his own gun and returned fire.

The uninjured teenager told police that both teens had been shooting. Police were able to recover a gun, which had been reported stolen to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

As a result of the investigation, Croaker was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on one count of open murder.

Charges are pending for the other teenager.

The Clark County coroner will release the name of the teen who was killed after relatives have been notified.
