LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and SWAT shut down Rainbow Boulevard and Gowan Road around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers were investigating a barricade situation and they believed a woman was taken hostage.

Watch Commander Lieutenant David Gordon says it all began when a woman called 911 informing the dispatcher that her ex-boyfriend was outside her home attempting to break in.

When officers arrived they said they noticed broken glass outside the home and a door that was damaged. Gordon says once SWAT arrived on scene, a man and two women came out of the home.

Gordon says one man was arrested and all lanes in the area are now open.
