UPDATE AT 2:05 P.M.: Police report that the standoff ended around 2 p.m. and the suspect has been taken into custody.

ORIGINAL STORY

Las Vegas Police are at the scene of a standoff in the middle of the desert area near Lake Mead Boulevard and Los Feliz Street.

Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, police were called after a witness spotted a suspect who was wanted in connection with a domestic violence-related shooting from Saturday. No one was injured in that shooting.

A police helicopter eventually spotted the suspect's truck on Sunday, and police pulled over the vehicle to the side of the road.

The suspect, who had a handgun, exited the truck and ran into the desert area around 11 a.m., thus initiating the standoff.

SWAT and negotiators are at the scene.
