HENDERSON (KTNV) — One person has been arrested for arson after an early-morning fire at an apartment in Henderson on Tuesday.

The Henderson Fire Department responded on Oct. 6 at about 5 a.m. to Hampton Court Apartments, located at 1030 Center St., for a fire in the first-floor unit of a two-story apartment building. The fire was contained to one apartment with no extension to neighboring units.

A preliminary investigation by a Henderson Fire senior fire investigator determined that the fire was caused by arson. The apartment’s occupant, 42-year-old Tashika Coleman, was arrested for one count of first-degree arson.

Coleman was transported to an area hospital for an unrelated medical condition and at this time, no booking photo is available.

Henderson Police also responded to the scene and assisted with traffic and crowd control.

The fire caused approximately $100,000 in damage.

This is an open investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
