A smoke shop clerk charged in connection with a teen's death during a 2016 robbery has been sentenced to probation.

Raad Sunna had pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor of aiming a firearm at a human being. He originally was sentenced to 364 days in the Clark County Detention Center. That sentence was suspended and he was put on probation not to exceed three years.

13-year-old Fabriccio Patti was about 40 feet from Sunna during the robbery when he was shot on Dec. 2, 2016. The incident occurred at the smoke shop near Flamingo Road and Durango Drive.

Sunna was originally charged with murder in the case. After viewing surveillance footage, police said Sunna did not seem to be in to be in immediate danger. But Sunna had told authorities he had feared for his life when Patti and two other teens entered the store even though Patti was not armed.
