Las Vegas police is investigating a shooting that occurred near the Sands Expo & Convention Center Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 4:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Sands Avenue, just east of Las Vegas Boulevard. 

The preliminary investigation indicates two separate groups became involved in a verbal altercation, which turned physical. At some point during the incident, someone in the group produced a handgun and fired one round.

No one was struck by gunfire.  

Security in the area made contact with the shooter, 28-year-old Moises Johnson, and took him into custody. Police also took the gun.

Police have not released the names of anyone involved, however, TMZ reports around the same time in the same location that singer and rapper Sean Kingston was beat up. According to TMZ, Kingston and members of Migos got into an argument involving Soulja Boy.

TMZ also reports that it was someone from Kingston's group who pulled out a gun and fired once.
