UPDATE JAN. 12: Newly-released video shows the moment a man tried to drive away from authorities during a traffic stop in Pahrump, knocking a sheriff's deputy to the ground and sending law enforcement on a chase.

Nye County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Robert Gregory Ferris of Las Vegas was arrested for numerous charges following the Jan. 11 chase near Gold Town Casino.

The deputy seen on camera falling to the ground suffered minor injuries, the agency says.

PAHRUMP (KTNV) -- Nye County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a stolen vehicle chase in Pahrump led to a deputy being dragged by the suspect, authorities say.

Deputies found out the vehicle was stolen during a traffic stop, according to law enforcement. When they tried to arrest the driver, the driver took off.

Authorities say the suspect vehicle then crashed into a police motorcycle and kept going, dragging one of the deputies.

The chase ended several minutes later with the suspect vehicle going up on the sidewalk and into the parking lot of the Gold Town Casino.

Police say the suspect then tried to run away and was apprehended. They were taken into custody by Nye County Sherrif's deputies and brought to to Desert View Hospital.

The officer who was dragged received minor injuries and also transported to Desert View Hospital.

Authorities say a passenger in the vehicle was dropped off at some point during the chase, and deputies have located that person.

The investigation remains ongoing.
