Las Vegas police are searching for a man wanted in connection with an attempted sexual assault in the west part of town.
Officers were called to the 6100 block of West Tropicana Avenue, near Jones Boulevard, on Thursday after 5 p.m. with reports of a man who attacked an employee and attempted to assault her sexually.
A woman was working when a 46-year-old man came into the business requesting to use the bathroom. He then exited the bathroom without a shirt and grabbed the woman back to the bathroom, according to police.
The suspect, later identified as Armando Mejia, attempted to assault the woman in the bathroom sexually but she fought the suspect who eventually punched her in the face and left the business before police arrived.
Mejia has a distinctive tattoo on his left chest that says “Carlene” and has been arrested in the past, according to authorities.
Detectives are seeking assistance from the public in locating him, and anyone with further information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
