Police: Las Vegas man killed at Fourth of July party

UPDATE (7/15/20): The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 31-year-old Ronnell Brown. Brown was killed by a gunshot wound to the back, a homicide.

Police say a man was shot during a fight at a Fourth of July house party in Las Vegas.

The shooting happened outside a home on Greasewood Drive, near Bonanza Road and Nellis Boulevard.

When officers arrived at the scene police say they found an unresponsive man who had been shot. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he later died.

Investigators say the man was at a Fourth of July party at a home in the area when a fight broke out between two partygoers.

The man tried to stop the fight, according to police, and a 17-year-old pulled out a handgun and started shooting in the direction of the people fighting.

Police say the teen hit the man.

The unnamed 17-year-old was booked into Clark County Detention Center and faces an open murder charge.

The identity of the man killed as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
