The 37-year-old is facing two counts of unlawful contact with a minor after an investigation was initiated at B. Mahlon Brown Academy of International Studies, where he was working as a music teacher.

Police said Markel was assigned to home in January, per the negotiated terms of his bargaining unit.

He had been working as a music teacher at Brown Academy since 2019 and employed by the Clark County School District since August 2018.
