A Pahrump woman was taken into custody on June 28 after law enforcement officials found several dozen animals living in "deplorable conditions of filth and trash."

Nye County Sheriff's deputies and the Public Administrator found 20 large dogs of different breeds, 35 chihuahuas, 15 cats, and two horses inside the residence on the 1500 block of Heritage Drive.

Officials say the animals did not have adequate shelter, food, or water. At least one dead kitten was found decomposing in the back yard.

The animals are currently being relocated to a facility that can provide adequate care. 38-year-old Brenna Lise England was taken into custody on $1,001 cash-only bail in connection with the case.

Officials are still investigating and charges are pending.
