Officer identified in Saturday shooting involving LVMPD

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas police officer involved in a shooting on Dec. 19 has been identified as Officer Daniel Clark.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Officer Clark is 30 years old and has been employed with the LVMPD since 2017.

He is assigned to the Community Policing Division, Downtown Area Command.

The officer has been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of this incident.

On Saturday, police say someone began shooting at them on Mesquite Avenue, near Eastern Avenue and the U.S. 95, when the department returned fire.

One person was detained and no injuries were reported.
