UPDATE: Coroner identifies man killed in double shooting

UPDATE JAN. 21: The Clark County Coroner has identified the deceased man as 18-year-old Samaj Holmes.

Holmes' death was due to a gunshot wound to the head and it has been ruled a homicide.

Holmes was found inside of a vehicle that hit a house near Washburn Road and Goldfield Street on Jan. 15.

North Las Vegas Police detectives say they are investigating a shooting resulting in a delayed death.

On Jan. 15 at 9:20 a.m. NLVPD officers were dispatched to the area of Washburn Road and Goldfield Street after receiving a call about a vehicle that drove into a house.

When they arrived officers found a vehicle with two people inside suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims were a man and a woman, both believed to be 18 years old.

When medical personnel arrived both victims were transported to University Medical Center.

Detectives say they were recently notified that the man died on Jan. 17. The woman is said to be stable at this time.

Police say this is still an active investigation and no additional details are available at this time.

Detectives are currently working on all investigative leads and they say this is not believed to be a random act of violence.
