NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The owner of the dog named "Lily" who died in a backyard near Tropical Parkway and Bruce Street in North Las Vegas last summer is now facing two misdemeanor charges.
Lily’s death in the summer of 2020 inspired a new law in North Las Vegas.
Under the law, pet owners must provide animals with food, water, veterinary care and proper shelter when they are kept outside.
If not, the owners can be charged with animal neglect.
The owner has been identified as Arnold Galanto. He is expected in North Las Vegas court on Feb. 25.
