Nevada Highway Patrol trooper shoots at rock-throwing man

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A man was shot at and tased by Nevada Highway Patrol troopers overnight after he began throwing rocks at them.

The troopers were investigating another incident involving a pedestrian around 12:20 a.m. near Eastern Avenue and U.S. 95 when they encountered the man.

The man began throwing rocks at the troopers and he ran away from them when confronted. The troopers, with the help of Las Vegas police, chased the man.

A trooper shot at the man when he resisted arrest. Another trooper then tased the man.

The man was placed into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. He was booked into Clark County Detention Center after being checked.

The trooper who fired the shot will be placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.

The man is expected to face various charges.
