According to his arrest report, Castro responded to an online advertisement for sex.
He sent a text message to a decoy number, which was answered by a member of the FBI.
They then discussed having sex and the decoy (FBI agent) told the buyer (Castro) that she was 15 years old.

The FBI and Las Vegas police met Castro when he arrived at the arranged location.
Castro admitted that he was coming to the location to meet a 15-year-old female for sex, but he said that he was planning on taking her back to his house to try to get her to stop having sex for money.
Castro was arrested for soliciting a peace officer who was posing as a child for prostitution by offering to pay $100 for sexual intercourse and oral sex. He was also charged with soliciting a child.
