Police say a 21-year-old male was fatally stabbed outside of a home in the 3500 block of Stanley Avenue near Owens Avenue and Pecos Road.

The stabbing happened outside a house where a music event was held. North Las Vegas Police responded to a call shortly before midnight Dec. 28 about a stabbing in the 3500 block of Stanley Avenue.

The Clark County coroner identified the victim as Omar Cedano. His loved ones are turning to the public in hopes anyone with information can help identify the suspect(s).

"He just had a baby this shouldn't have happened. He was funny, he was chill, like he was a good guy."

The preliminary investigation revealed Cedano was inside the house before the stabbing. Witnesses say they heard a lot of yelling just before the stabbing.

The motive for the crime is unclear at this time but it is not believed to have been a random act of violence. No arrests have been made at this time.

13 Action News spoke to Cedano’s childhood friends. They are upset no one is cooperating with the investigation.

"I'm so mad because I know a lot of people seen stuff and they don't want to say nothing."

“He had a big heart and I don't know why it had to come like this."

When medical personnel arrived, they found Cedano lying in the street, he was transported to UMC Trauma where he later died.

A growing memorial sits in front of the house where the crime occurred.

Friends and family dropped off balloons, flowers, and candles on Saturday evening.
