Man found in burning car, roommate arrested for murder

Las Vegas police have arrested 29-year-old Joshua Martinez for the murder of his roommate.

Police say the Clark County Fire Department responded to a call of a burning vehicle in the 3300 block of Greenwood Springs Drive near East Desert Inn Road at about 4:39 a.m. July 6.

After they put the fire out, they found a deceased male on the passenger floorboard.

Detectives learned the victim lived at a residence in the 4900 block of East Hildago Way. Officers made contact with Martinez at the residence. During the course of the investigation, they discovered evidence that linked Martinez to the man's death.

Martinez was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center. The coroner's office will release name and cause of death for the deceased after proper notification.
