LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An update on the trial of the man accused of killing Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Ben Jenkins in March.

The suspect has been deemed sane to stand trial.

John Leonard Dabritz underwent almost two months of treatment for bipolar disorder.

Dabritz faces capital punishment if convicted.

His attorneys plan to use the insanity defense at trial.

Authorities say Dabritz stole Jenkin's uniform and took off in his patrol car after the shooting.
