LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is warning about thieves taking advantage of your online holiday shopping.

Police say package thieves know there will be deliveries in the days after Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

They say you should know when the package will be dropped off and bring it inside shortly after.

You can also do curbside pickup or have packages delivered to lockers.

Officers say if you shop in person, keep your purchases with you or hide them in your car.

LVMPD also started its holiday safety initiative. Officers in and out of uniform will be on patrol near malls and big box stores.
