Las Vegas police are seeking a man they said burglarized an elderly man's home last month.

The morning of March 11, officers responded to a residence located in the 2100 block of Edmond Street, near Oakey and Decatur boulevards, to investigate a reported burglary.

Police said the suspect entered the elderly victim’s home while he was doing yard work in the front yard. The victim stated he became suspicious when he noticed his front porch light turn off.

Once he entered his house, the victim attempted to enter his bedroom however the door was barricaded with a dresser. He was able to push the bedroom door open and noticed the room had been ransacked.

Evidence at the scene suggested that while the victim was in the front yard, the suspect jumped over the back wall and broke into the home.

The suspect stole several pieces of jewelry, money, credit cards and personal documents belonging to the victim. He attempted to use the victim’s credit card at a convenience store and was captured on surveillance video.
