LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — On Nov. 6 at about 12:15 p.m. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Dispatch received a call from a person reporting two children were unresponsive at an apartment near Sierra Vista Drive and Cambridge Street.
Once officers arrived they located the two children and began to provide aid.
Medical personnel responded and pronounced both children dead at the scene.
LVMPD Homicide Section says the investigation has indicated the two children had been intentionally injured by their mother, who was later identified as 26-year-old Amanda SharpJefferson.
Police say she was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where she was booked for two counts of open murder.
The identification of the victims, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
