A pair of Grinches stole the Christmas spirit away from a pizzeria Wednesday when they stole two life-size nutcrackers.

For the past 7 years, customers of Dom Demarco's Pizzeria have looked forward to enjoying Christmas decorations in the restaurant during the holiday season.

This year, though, customers have noticed something missing.

"It's really amazing how many people walk through the door and say to us, 'What happened to the nutcrackers?!" said owner Albert Scalleat.

The 6-foot tall wooden nutcrackers were last seen in the arms of two thieves. Surveillance cameras captured video of a red Jeep driving up to the restaurant around 11 p.m. Wednesday night. Two men jump out of the vehicle, pick up the nutcrackers, and load them into the vehicle.

"They should be ashamed of themselves going around stealing Christmas things at Christmas time," Scalleat said.

The nutcrackers are worth about $1,000. Scalleat worries the thieves might target other businesses near Summerlin.
