Las Vegas woman charged with arson after mobile home fire

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A woman has been arrested and charged with arson after allegedly starting a fire that destroyed a mobile home where she lived Monday morning. There were no injuries reported during the incident.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Arson Investigators charged Alexis Bounds, 19, with one count of Arson, First Degree for the fire at 825 North Lamb Blvd. after allegedly starting the fire inside the single-wide mobile home where she lives.

She is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC).

Fire dispatchers received multiple 911 calls at 7:22 a.m. of the fire at the El Adobe Mobile Home Estates near Lamb Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, heavy flames and smoke were showing from the home. It took firefighters only a few minutes to bring the blaze under control.

The fire was confined to the mobile home. Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The suspect was questioned by LVFR Arson Investigators on the scene, then taken into custody and taken to CCDC to be charged. LVFR says the incident remains under investigation.

Three adults live in the mobile home, the American Red Cross was contacted to see if the other two occupants needed assistance.
