Las Vegas police sergeant charged with 2 counts lewdness

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Las Vegas police officer is facing two charges of open and gross lewdness.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a report on Dec. 22 that LVMPD Sgt. Michael Souder had inappropriately touched an adult while off duty.

Souder has been with LVMPD since June 2001 and is assigned to the Downtown Area Command, Tourist Safety Division. He is currently on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the case.

It's also been confirmed that Souder spent time as a coach at Spring Valley High School during the 2016-17 school year.

The charges were submitted by the district attorney.
