LATEST: 13 Action News spoke with the victim Tuesday. The woman was too afraid to reveal her name.

"I want to know who helped me," she said, "that's the only reason I'm here."

13 Action News spoke with the teenager who saw the aftermath of the attack and jumped in to help.

A 16-year-old named Angel says he was walking by the victim's car when he saw legs hanging out of the window.

"She kept screaming for help," he said. "I kept trying to calm her down."

Angel says the victim's head was on the floorboard. She was upside down and covered in blood.

He called 911 and stayed with the victim until police arrived.

It was a scary situation for the teenager because he wasn't entirely sure that the attacker was out of the area.

"I always remember what my mom told me to do and I took action," he said.

The victim says she'll have no peace until the attacker is arrested.

"He immediately unsnapped the seatbelt and hollered, I got a gun and I'll shoot you," she said.

ORIGINAL: Las Vegas police are looking for a man who they say carjacked an elderly woman last week.

Around 5:45 p.m., May 10, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Summer Heights Lane and Cedar Avenue, which is near Bonanza Road and Sloan Lane, to investigate a call of a suspicious vehicle.  A caller was walking down the street when someone was heard crying for help from a vehicle that was parked at the intersection.

Arriving officers located an elderly woman stuck inside the floorboard of the vehicle suffering from bruises and lacerations.  The victim indicated she had been carjacked and beaten before the suspect left her in the vehicle. The victim was transported to UMC Trauma for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.

Detectives learned the victim was driving her car and returning home after running errands when her vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle.  A man came up to the victim’s window and asked her if she was OK.

The man then undid the victim’s seatbelt and told her to get into the passenger seat, according to police.  When the victim refused, the man indicated he had a gun and would kill her.

The man shoved the victim over the center console and drove the vehicle out of the area.  Police said he drove around for approximately 30 minutes and during that time, punched the victim repeatedly.

The man took personal property from the victim and then parked the vehicle at Summer Heights Lane and Cedar Avenue.

The victim was still wedged in the passenger floorboard of the vehicle when the man got out of the car.

Video surveillance from a nearby residence shows the suspected carjacker getting out of the victim’s vehicle and getting into another silver or gray sedan that had been following the victim’s car before leaving the area.

The driver of the car the man got into before fleeing the scene could not be described.
