LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas police are asking for help finding the driver in a hit-in-run crash late Monday night that left one person recovering from critical injuries.

Police say the crash happened shortly before 10:45 p.m. on July 6 near Charleston and Las Vegas boulevards.

A man was walking on a sidewalk in the area, police say, when a 2019 Kia Soul veered off the road and traveled onto the sidewalk before crashing into a street-light pole and the man.

The driver did not stop at the scene and drove west, police say. After traveling a short distance, the driver stopped the car, got out and left the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The man hit by the car was transferred to the UMC Trauma where authorities say he remains in critical condition.

This crash remains under investigation.
