Las Vegas man sentenced for targeting the elderly

Nevada Attorney General Aaron F. Ford announced that Emmanuel D. Ford, 43 was sentenced for his role in a telemarketing scam targeting the elderly. Emmanuel Ford previously pleaded guilty to one count of Multiple Transactions Involving Fraud or Deceit, a category "B" felony and one count of Theft, a category "B" felony. The frauds were committed between April 2013 and March 2014.

Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Jacqueline Bluth sentenced Emmanuel Ford to 18 to 48 months in prison on each count, to run consecutive, for a total sentence of 36-96 months in prison. As part of his sentence, Ford was ordered to pay restitution to the named victims in the amount of $109,628.41, as well as investigative costs.

Emmanuel Ford operated a telemarketing business in Las Vegas, NV under the company names of North Lake Consulting, Inc.; Bakersfield Marketing and Management, Inc.; Downline Marketing and Training, Inc.; and Dream Marketing and SEO, Inc. Ford, either personally or by the acts of his co-conspirators, solicited individuals to invest in a web-based business they represented as profitable. Ford made these representations knowing that the individuals solicited would not in fact profit from their investments. Many of his victims were seniors.

This case was investigated and prosecuted by the Office of the Nevada Attorney General. The amended Indictment is attached.
