LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A 61-year-old man named Ricky Meyers was arrested earlier this week for dispersing a hoax substance into a swimming pool at an apartment complex near Desert Inn Road and Eastern Avenue.

Police say that Meyers was arguing with 2 men who were in the pool when he poured something into the pool out of a clear plastic bottle.

Meyers then went into his home, retrieved a different plastic bottle with pink liquid, and sprayed it on the men’s belongings, according to the arrest report.

A neighbor called the police. The arriving officer saw Meyers leaving on a bicycle upon arrival. When he returned, he was detained. A glass vial with white powder was found in his pocket. Meyers told police it was baking powder but could not explain why he had it.

One of the men, who lives in the apartment complex, has been having issues with Meyers for weeks. The other man was the resident’s cousin.

Meyers was booked into Clark County Detention Center. It does not appear that he is still in custody.
