ORIGINAL STORY
Las Vegas police say a man is dead after a fight on Dec. 13 at the Clark County Detention Center.

Police say that a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department corrections officer was conducting a walk-through of his module when he saw a 59-year-old inmate lying unresponsive on the floor of his cell.

The man was transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition. He later died.

Homicide detectives responded and learned that the victim had been in a fight with his cell mate, 39-year-old Steven Revell. They believe that Revell strangled the victim.

Revell is facing a charge of one count of open murder.

Revell was behind bars for the stabbing of a tourist on Fremont Street on Dec. 5.
