LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says it arrested 39-year-old Steven Revell on charges of attempted murder and possession of a controlled substance after stabbing a tourist around 11 p.m. on Dec. 5.

The stabbing took place near 425 Fremont St., with the arrest occurring near Casino Center and Ogden Avenue.

The victim, Garrett Knoell, was walking on Fremont Street with co-workers here on business when he got separated from the group.

The police report states Knoell stopped near 4th and Fremont Streets to call his friends when the stabbing took place. The report says the "stabbing was completely unprovoked."

Revell had .9 grams of heroin inside a folded up dollar bill in his possession at the time of arrest, police say.
