UPDATE AUG. 6: The Clark County Coroner has identified the couple as 82-year-old Joyce Gregory and 82-year-old James Frederkik Gregory, both from Henderson.

Her cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and it was ruled a homicide. His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and it was ruled a suicide.

Authorities in Henderson are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at a home located in the Anthem master-planned community.

Police and fire units responded to the 2800 block of Sapphire Desert Drive, near Anthem Parkway, just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers arrived on scene and confirmed an 82-year-old man and an 82-year-old female were deceased at the scene.

Detectives preliminary investigation revealed the incident to be an apparent murder-suicide.

The name of the people involved will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after family has been notified.

This was the sixth homicide for the city of Henderson so far in 2020, according to police. The incident remains under investigation.
