LAS VEGAS (KTNV) β One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting near Boulder Highway and Flamingo Road on Tuesday, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene and another was transported to Sunrise Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
π΄ WATCH π΄ Lt. Robert Price shares details of the initial investigation:
Flamingo Road is closed in both directions at Boulder Highway amid the ongoing investigation, Channel 13 has learned.
A traffic camera in the area showed a heavy police presence and crime scene tape securing a large portion of the intersection.
Lt. Robert Price said homicide investigators believe the shots were fired after three men got into an argument outside a tire shop in the area. During the argument, Price says, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot at the two other men.
LVMPD officers attempted life-saving measures on the two men found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Price said. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene.
Price said officers found a man who matched the gunman's description in the area and took him into custody. At this time, investigators don't believe there are any outstanding suspects, he added.
The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, and police aren't warning of any immediate threat to the public.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact LVMPD's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 702-385-5555 or online at crimestoppersofnv.com.
