Elko police investigating homicide in park

ELKO, Nev. (AP) — Elko police have opened a homicide investigation into the death of a 25-year-old man who was found dead in a park over the weekend.

Police say 25-year-old Marcus Rogers' face was bloodied but they haven't released the cause and manner of his death.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports police responded after midnight Saturday at Angel Park on the city's north side.

Police said in a statement that the investigation is ongoing and detectives are continuing to follow up on leads.

The Free Press reports Rogers served prison time in 2017 on a drug charge.
