LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Police have launched an investigation after a bag of deceased dogs was found at Desert Breeze Park on Friday.

The man who found them only wanted to be identified as "Joe" out of fear of retaliation from whoever is responsible.

“There was a mother dog and a few puppies in there that someone had tied up, and looks like they may have suffocated them,” says Joe.

Joe says when he let his own dog off its leash, she ran off to a plastic bag that was surrounded by blood and a strong odor.

Las Vegas Police were called to the scene, and they confirm that they’re investigating.

“Police were saying that the bag had been there for probably a few days because of the decomposing of the animals,” says Joe.

Unfortunately, there’s more questions than answers about what happened.

“To hear that anybody would hurt an animal, or even dump an animal in this way, it’s just heartbreaking,” says Gina Greisen, Nevada Voters for Animals.

Greisen is an animal advocate who wants justice for the dogs.

“I hope they get to the bottom of it, I hope tips come in as to who did this,” says Greisen.

The incident was also posted about on Facebook, and received over 1,000 reactions, and nearly 300 comments from folks in outrage.

“Drop the dogs off at a shelter, or even the fire department, police department, instead of wrapping them in a plastic bag and dumping them in the desert," says Joe.
