UPDATE: Coroner identifies car wash shooting suspect found dead

UPDATE NOV. 25: The Clark County Coroner has identified the deceased suspect as 44-year-old Thomas Bermudez from Las Vegas. Bermudez' cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and it was ruled a suicide.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detectives responded to a residence on Sacks Drive near Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway on Nov. 20 after receiving information the suspect from a car wash shooting on Nov. 17 was inside.

Detectives set up a perimeter and gave commands over a PA system for the man to surrender.

Police say another resident came out and reported hearing a loud sound prior to coming out.

Detectives entered the residence and found the man deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The identification of the deceased was not released at this time.

Police say an examination of this incident is being conducted by the LVMPD’s Critical Incident Review Team.

This review will focus on policy, tactics, and training as it relates to this incident.
