UPDATE: Carson City authorities have located a man and a woman wanted for abducting their children after they lost custody of them.

The Nevada Appeal reports that Dason Valdez was arrested Thursday and Krystle Reid was released in connection with the case. They both face charges in Douglas County.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office found the couple just after midnight Thursday after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious person.

ORIGINAL STORY

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Rewards of $1,000 each are being offered for information leading to the arrest of a Carson City couple accused of abducting their two young children from their custodial grandparents.

The Douglas County sheriff's office says the children, 4-year-old Hailey Valdez and 2-year-old Lucas Valdez, were safely returned Monday night to their grandparents in the Indian Springs area.

Still at large are the parents -- 29-year-old Dason Valdez and 27-year-old Krystle Reid.

A Carson City District Court judge awarded custody of the children to Valdez' parents on Monday.

Valdez allegedly went to his parents' home hours later, battered his mother and allegedly threatened to return and kill his parents before deputies say he and Reid fled with the children. Deputies recovered their vehicle early Tuesday.
